Bandura's Social Learning
Bandura’s social learning theory describes how humans imitate and model one another. This only occurs when humans are attentive, retentive, able to reproduce what they see, and are motivated. Adolescents are able to pay attention to the differences in each other and can retain the information they observed. To be able to imitate others, the individuals must be able to reproduce the observation. There needs to be a reason or motivation to imitate someone. ("Social") Imitating and modeling a person can cause the other person to pick up their skills and goals. (5.2)
