Vygotsky's Concept Applied in the Classroom
Using Vygotsky Zone of Proximal Development concept can help the learning process and make the learning process easier(2.1). Being a math teacher, I will try to give time after my lesson so that the student can work on their homework. Instead of just sitting at the front, I will walk around to see how the students are doing. If a student is struggling or did not answer a question right I can give them a hint or an example to look at to help. Another way is to allow and encourage the students to talk during this time. Sometimes having a peer explain how to do a problem is easier for the student to understand than it is when the teacher explains it. Students will be able to give hints to each other to help their learning.
