Vygotsky's Zone of Proximal Development
Vygotsky's Zone of Proximal Development describes the process in which people learn from one another with assistance. This theory measures what a person can do without any assistance verse what they can do with some assistance. The assistance can come from parents, teachers, and their peers(Mcleod). The help in a math class could be as little as telling the student they forgot a negative sign which caused them to get the wrong answer. With the interactions, the individuals are able to develop skills and strategies to help with problem solving, social interactions, and cognitive development.
