Bronfenbrenner’s Ecological Systems Model
Bronfenbrenner’s Ecological Systems is a model that describes a persons interactions with the environments they are surround by. There are many different ways that environments can influence the individual. The image below is a visual representation to show the different systems. The first system is called the microsystem which involves the direct influences in the individuals life. The person's family and the people they interact with in school, church, and sports are a part of this system. The second system is the mesosystem which involves the interactions with the microsystem. This interaction is between the family and school to make a cohesive network. Exosystem is the third system involving government, social policies, community, and mass media. There are indirect interactions by this system that influence the individual through laws and social standards. One law that would effect adolescents in the high school age range is the drinking age at 21. The fourth and final system is the macrosystem dealing with the attitudes of the culture the individual lives in. The culture effects the attitudes and ideologies of the person(Bronfenbrenner's Ecological Theory Of Development).
